Through M-Corps, SecondMuse incubates a core cohort of startups, but we also create workshops and events for the wider founder community. Explore our upcoming invites, as well as past events, and level your startup.
In this workshop you’ll learn about Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), a step-by-step approach for identifying all possible failures in a design, a manufacturing or assembly process, and the consequences of those failures. How can you reduce potential downtime and defective products/ How does this influence your assembly process?
In this workshop we’ll discuss how to plan your Quality Assurance (QA) process and QA team. At which stages in the manufacturing process should you introduce QA? What are the impacts on schedule and cost?
All 11 M-Corps startups will present on a technical issue that they’re having and receive feedback from a panel of mentors and their fellow startups.
Looking to build a supply chain that’s closer to home? On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, SecondMuse continued its newest series of hardware startup support. This session, part of the M-Corps workshops series focused on Supply Chain Strategy at New Lab in Brooklyn Navy Yard. NYCEDC’s Stacey Weismiller and Inventaprint’s Rich Mokuolu lead attendees through an essential, and entertaining, presentation on sourcing and production. Throughout this series, we’ll share key takeaways so that you can learn from local experts.
At Urban Future Lab, we kicked off with Manufacturing 101: Talking to Manufacturers, a panel discussion spearheaded by local experts and moderated by SecondMuse Senior Director Katey Metzroth. As our partners at Dragon Innovation say, “Early mistakes cast a long shadow,” and our workshops help founders make more informed decisions early on to save money, and heartbreak, later in the process.
We wrapped up M-Corps onboarding for startups recently at Pratt Institute’s Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator. Throughout the day, founders honed in on their Manufacturing Readiness Level and assessments and their Production Scale-Up Roadmaps.
SecondMuse kicked off the M-Corps program with a two-day onboarding at New Lab in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Startups came together for the first time and were joined by our lineup of mentors as well as M-Corps sponsor and partner, Dragon Innovation.
